Sites

A site is a named physical location on the map — a construction site, a mine, a parcel of land, a road corridor. Sites are the top-level organisational unit for your data.

All files in Swyvl belong to a site. There is no workspace-level file inbox.

Creating a site

1. From the map home screen, click + in the toolbar
2. Click a location on the map to place the pin, or search for an address
3. Enter a site name
4. Drag the pin to the exact location if needed
5. Click Create

The site appears as a pin on the map. Click it to open the Site Hub.

Site hub

The Site Hub is the main view for a site. It has five tabs:

Activity	Upload history, viewer events, and share link activity with IP and location data
Trash	Deleted files — restore or permanently delete within 30 days

See your files on a map. In the Files view, click the map icon to plot every geolocated file (GPS photos, 360°s, drone footage) at the location it was captured — a quick way to see spatial coverage across the site.

Site map & base maps

The site map is more than pins. GPX tracks uploaded to the site draw their route lines on the map, collections are colour-coded, and nearby markers cluster at low zoom so dense captures stay readable.

Map content panel. The panel in the corner of the map is a live legend: toggle each collection or layer on and off, and click a collection’s colour chip to change the colour used for its markers and route lines.

Custom base maps. Any georeferenced GeoTIFF — a drone orthomosaic, for example — can be designated as a site base map, so it draws underneath your file markers rather than appearing only as a pin. From the panel’s Base map section, click Add custom base map and pick one of the site’s GeoTIFFs (or upload a new one). A site can have multiple base maps:

• Rename each base map and set its opacity
• Reorder them — list order is draw order
• Choose whether each one also shows as a file in the Files list, or exists only as a base map
• Turn on Hide street/satellite imagery to show only your own base maps as the background

The site map is shared everywhere the site appears — the workspace hub, client share links, and the minimap inside viewers — so base maps and layer colours you set are what clients see too.

Collections

A collection represents a single field visit — one drone flight, one laser scan day, one photogrammetry run. Collections group files that were captured together.

Collections help your clients understand which data came from which visit, and make it easy to compare how a site looks across multiple dates.

Creating a collection

Collections are created when you upload files:

1. In the upload dialog, open the Collection dropdown
2. Select an existing collection, or type a new name to create one
3. Optionally set a capture date for the collection

You can also create collections from the Files tab before uploading.

Collections in share links

In share links, files are automatically grouped by collection with the collection name and capture date as a heading. This gives clients a clear timeline of deliveries:

Workspaces

A workspace represents a client. Sites, files, and share links belong to a workspace.

If you work with multiple clients, create a separate workspace for each one:

• Workspace A — City of Brisbane
• Workspace B — BHP Operations
• Workspace C — Coca-Cola Amatil

Each workspace has its own branding (accent colour, header message), sites, and share links. Switch workspaces using the selector at the top of the sidebar.

Organisation

Your organisation is the top level — it represents your company. An organisation contains all your workspaces, and settings like your logo and data region apply across all of them.
